You don’t have to be a nerd
or genius to excel in your studies. With all the entries in my blog, YOU, the
average college student may realize that learning is almost identical to having
fun. This
blog is not meant to scare you or take away any of the joy, excitement, and
anticipation you feel about being to college. It’s quite the opposite. This blog
is just one of the things you need to do to thrive in college. And many of the
tools, skills, and habits you develop through this entry may not only be used
to help you succeed in college, but in your future career as well.
This will be the last part
of my blog and I hope that you take this seriously for your mom and dad who altruistically
gave all that they have and all that they are not only for your education but
for your future as well.
What does pursuing your passion
mean to you? People talk about it all the time, but what does it really mean?
It’s
very important for everyone to follow their passion and do what they feel they
are inspired to do. No matter what you do in life, one of the most
happy-making things you can do is following your passion. Following your passion for work or hobby
helps us all unfold our gifts and talents.
The act of following it allows us to gain skills in areas we’re
already strong and pushes us to become better. Since college life is the time
to build and mold every individual, we can begin to create a body of work that
will grow and develop over our lifetime. Engaging yourself in meaningful hobbies
keeps your mind nimble as you grow and allows you to feel that your life has a great meaning and purpose.
If you take the time to pursue your
passion, what you’re essentially doing is developing your skills and gifts— and this
leads to expertise. Who doesn’t want to
be an expert about something? Naturally, there's no way to predict where our paths may lead us. In fact, our ideas and plans could very well change down the
road. In order for us to be successful all we have to do is to nurture our
individual dreams. I personally think that you should study what you want, whatever
your dream or passion is because at the end of the day you should have made
yourself happy and not just being someone else.
“Nothing great in the world
has ever been accomplished without passion.”
It is important that you find time to reflect upon what an education means to you. College is our live's one of the most roughest yet exciting moments. You need to prioritize every obscurity you’re wishing to know. Creating a schedule and concentrating on your studies, of course, are part of it.
Remember that being in college is for your future benefit. Studying and doing well in college helps YOU build a path for a better future.
Faced with the demands of different requirements, memorization and researches, you often find yourself drained of energy and stressed out before the day is over and you may ask yourself: “How can I stay determined in my studies?” The answer lies in developing a positive attitude towards learning. Just like motivation, a positive learning attitude is difficult to develop and maintain. However, it is possible if you commit yourself to thinking and acting positively. And for you to do that, you must be, at all costs, doing your part by being adaptive. Struggles may interfere but, as much as you could, never should you be affected. Determination's phase might get gradual from facing struggles so you should be firm. Be competent and remain steadfast looking up reaching for your dreams.
We can all agree that meaningful schoolwork promotes students' learning of academic content. But why stop there? I believe that meaningful work can also teach students to love challenges, to enjoy effort, to be resilient, and to value their own improvement.
Meaningful learning tasks need to challenge every student in some way. It is crucial that no student be able to coast to success time after time; this experience can create the fixed-mindset belief that you are smart only if you can succeed without effort. Do mountain climbers really like all the hard climbing? Maybe, but the key is that they love the challenge. The bigger the challenge, the harder they work.
Hard work is the best and surest way to achieve your goals. I really used to think that hard work was not enough and that one could arrive at desired goals with sheer intellect... Truth is intellect, passion, & interest alone doesn't suffice.
“There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.”

People say nothing can compare your college days. It is a
time for total freedom for some and an exploration for many. It is during this time where you get to
explore, build relationship and tailor your goals to your career path. For some students it is defined totally as a
freedom since it is the moment to get out from their family's supervision. Also it is
the time when students make the most out of it trying different things and enjoying every moment of their lives.
College life perhaps is the most fun-filled days in most
people’s lives. Presence in school doesn't always necessarily describe learning
and attending subsequent classes you’re obliged to attend with. What matters
most is that you get to enjoy your life in all different possible ways. Watch out because collegiate life may seem to be full of paper works but if you take it in its positive way and seeing it as your sharpener, you will learn how to adapt doing
those. Sooner you’ll benefit from those requirements not only from the school
but also from the future work you’re longing.
Sometimes, college life certainly will make your character
stumble; therefore you should handle things with additional care. Don’t get me
wrong if I say that you should enjoy moments while you’re still studying.
Being a student doesn't mean that your wanted habits such as smoking, drinking,
sex, drugs, etc. should be trashed into your waste bin. If it is what soothes
your feelings then why throw it? As a student you should of course have a mark for
your own limitations. When I say enjoy,
I only meant of multitasking or learning in spite the fact of being apart from your so-called-shell. This
level shall be a practice ground for your lifelong career and it will
definitely mold and develop you towards a better person.

In college, there will always be times when you feel
stressed about something. It is just a
part of being a student; hence, you should consider this normal and often
unavoidable. It’s just something you
can’t rid of and it’s a big challenge really for college students. Stress could
always be striking one’s soul whenever you experience having a class in your
very strict professor, devouring a complicated schedule and most especially
getting a low or worst, a failed grade. Mind you, stress is something that can
be broken.
By following these succeeding steps I swear that you can
have the power to eliminate your stressful collegiate days:
1.Don’t be stressed about being stressed! This
seems to be ironic but it is listed for a reason. If you’re stressed out, admit
it and figure out on how you can resolve it. If you keep thinking that you’re
really stressed and on the peak of giving up, it will only make things worse. It’s
like disobeying the law of attraction. Thinking about something, regardless of its
nature, is like pulling its occurrence. Trust me, it was documented proven.
2.Have a break. Take a moment and think.
Personal space rarely exists stepping by that time. Finding some moment for
yourself might be what you just need. Stepping out from the crazy college environment
for a nick of time can do wonders for reducing your stress.
3.Get a bit of help. Most college students are going through the
same things at the same time. So don't feel conscious about having a break. It
may help you process out what you need to do and help you realize the plans and
strategies to keep whatever stressful things in the line.
If you feel like you are falling apart, you need not be afraid. Most institutions
have counseling centers specifically guidance office provided for the students.
Don't be too embarrassed having an appointment. Be proud instead, you’re the
only one having the benefits of absorbing what you’ve paid.
4.Live while you’re young! Have you been
working on that research paper for 3 consecutive days? Reaching the finale of
such paper works will slurp all the energy that you got. It is not bad for you to plot its fin but
never should you torture yourself from killing your brain cells out of it. There
are plenty things to do. Hanging out with friends by seeing a movie, window
shopping, traveling and everything that is capable of dismissing your stress.
Learning how you steer clear of
stress, especially before it turns into something huge and horrible, is one of
the best skills you can learn during your college years. The bullets above are
just a few of my coping strategies that I, myself, have acquired.

Achievement, accomplishment,
completion, success, attainment, victory and everything that could be
associated with those words are reachable by means of one owns’ attention or
ability to focus. Concentrate and set your aim at the title you’re dying to reach.
It’s not bad to aim high. Just do it and do it with oozing confidence. Running
to reach your goals it is definitely not plausible that hindrances would not
pop out to interfere with your plans so you have to be firmly built in all
cases possible. Never let those challenges be the iceberg of your titanic.
It is
considerably true that focusing on studies is the student’s biggest problem
especially when stepping on collegiate life. I believe that there are times
that learning does not necessarily depend on the amount of time devoted to
study. A day can be spent studying a lesson but never should you ignore the
fact that you also have to give your beautiful mind a rest. I believe some of
you have encountered the moment that you got tired and irritated because of not
absorbing what you’re reading in spite of reading it a thousand times already.
What went wrong? It is definite that the focus you have set is dwindling. Our
degree of concentration surely determines the quality of our work results.
We can practice the art of making
our mind perform well without mentally wandering by practicing the following:
1.Do one thing at a time. Having low
grades in math? You should devote more time in that particular subject and stop
worrying about the memorization in history. When you are finished with it, then
it is the time to worry others. In that way you will learn better and faster in
a shorter allotted time.
2.Seat in front of the class. This really
is an effective tool for you to concentrate in class. This enables you to focus
on the professor in front of you without getting destruction from your blabby
seatmates.
3.Be aware of your appropriate time. You
know yourself better than anyone else. If you’re a morning person you should
set your study session at a.m. but if you’re a night owl, you should be
studying in the evening not unless you’re too tired. This would help you concentrate in your
studies since it is the peak of your brain power and enthusiasm.
4.Avoid day dreaming. While you are attending a class, you should
think of this as an inexcusable sin.
5.Set aside your problems. Leave all your
negative thoughts if you’re studying for it can be the greatest distraction of
your studies.

If you want something to get done but cannot be possibly done because of your infuriating mood swing of schedules, what would you do? Was there a moment wherein you were doing something and you failed to finish it because you recalled that something has to be done an hour ago? Have you had those kinds of events? Well if you want those happenings to be prevented, then, time management is the key my friend.
Time management, or the one that I’ve already
dubbed as my hero, pulls me out from falling on the verge of not accomplishing
anything. Ironing my things-to-do and labeling their significance mutually
keeps my time perfectly. If you have a pocket calendar with you then it is
almost safe for me to confabulate about you learning my techniques.
You’ll be
dealing with the 4 W’s. Specifically the what, when, why and who questions. Set
your plans on what needs to be done. As long and possible as you can, this
should be made in its most proper array. Determining your strengths and
weaknesses also answer the “what” question. If you’re a student, well, whether
you like it or not you have to lend time studying the subjects that make your
morale kneel to nil and make sure that the subjects you’re great at will remain
neutral. Organizing your schedule from the most to least
important-thing-to-be-done will bring us to our other question, when? Time is
golden so you alone should also have yourself a deadline. It definitely will
keep your frustration, from not successfully having your plan to happen, in
line. Knowing your priorities shall, I believe, answer the why question. This
has something to do with your plans’ scale weight. The heavier the plans, the
more you shall do everything to make it happen. The lighter the plans, the less
you’ll do to get it done. The schedule’s scale weight is not that much to
bother as long as you fight the urge of procrastinating.
I strongly
recommend one to arrange your plans accordingly. Trust me this will undeniably
save you from wasting your time resulting to remorse.

Life in
college has once made our toes tremble. Why? There are lots of reasons; (1) at
long last you have won the glory of embracing your independency in spite of
getting into the dreadful entrance of college life, (2) you’re going to be
conscious not only about yourself but also towards everyone you’re about to
meet because you think your attitude might not clique with your future friends
(not unless your attitude has proven to be affable), and (3) lastly - despite
not in the statement of knowing your adviser it freaks you out because you’re
stating such events beforehand.
College life is not to
fret about. I just thought of it as the battlefield of dreadful deadlines,
killer exams, and venomous essays - from hell. It’s not about exacerbating it
but I really did expect those kinds of silly things to at least prepare myself
from the lethal life I was about to
face.
It’s not that difficult to be
part of the institution just be aware of keeping your time preoccupied. Learn
how to cooperate with extracurricular activities of the college you are in. Not
only will you learn lots from it you’ll also know many people. Aside from
elongating your roots of connection you’ll also have the benefit of widening
the horizon of your knowledge. So give it your best shot and do everything you
can to prevent yourself from being a Wallflower.

Surviving college life? DISCIPLINE is
the key. The word, however, triggers unpleasant thoughts, and experiences such
as punishments, sermons, pressures, and so much more. In our today’s
generation, where there is a cut throat competition, discipline proves to be
the savior. It is something students must have at all times. It helps students
flourish in different ways.
You should unfold discipline as early
as possible. In that way, you could be able to control yourself especially when
making decisions. It’s something you have to develop for you to be able to be
one of the most accomplished person.
College life is way different on the real
life that you’ll be facing after you finish your studies. Spent you collegiate days
molding your self-discipline. Practice the elements that would help you unleash
the discipline within you. Practice the tools that would help you to be well disciplined
and these are the following: first, make a to-do list. And make a commitment that
you should accomplish the task you’ve written. I assure you, it helps your life
easier and it will certainly organize your life. Next is to be focused on everything
that you do. Whenever you’re studying, make it a habit to put away all of your unnecessary
things that would enable to distract you most especially you gadgets. Lastly, have
a self-control. Learn to say NO to your distractive feelings and cravings. Set aside
all your self-satisfying desires. You should learn how to satisfy the need of your
urges. Having all the things that you want can dominate your self-control.
You should make the most of your college
life for your own sake. Always have in you the act of self-discipline and
expect to achieve all the things that you desire. Just keep in mind that discipline
is the key to success.

When things get tough, all you need to have is perseverance. One of my most recognized professor once told me that there’s no easy course in college. All you have to do is strive hard in order for you to chase you goal. Though obstacles may appear inevitably, it doesn’t mean you have to give up. You should always find ways for you to outrun all those circumstances. But you have to remember that failure will always get into your way since it is impossible to live without failing.
If you’re having a hard time solving a problem in math, it doesn’t mean you’re not good at that subject. There’s a lot of ways in order for you to master a particular topic. Knowing the principle and understanding its concept is essential.
Having an afflatus definitely would make your perseverance alive and kickin’. Being persevered could be a good start in you college life. I assure you that you’ll have a rewarding finish. It is definitely should be a part of being a student. By the help of our mentors and encouragement of friends and especially be our own determination, we could be able to triumph over discouragements.
I believed that a person could do anything he wanted if he stuck into it passionately and wholeheartedly long enough. Failure is not making mistakes; failure is giving up.
